DOES SCOTIA STORM RINGETTE HAVE INSURANCE COVERAGE?

Yes, Scotia Storm is a fully insured organization.

HOW AND WHEN ARE ATHLETES SELECTED TO BE A PART OF SCOTIA STORM RINGETTE TEAMS?

Announcement dates for tryouts are typically made in the fall for U12, U14 and U16. U10 tryouts typically happen a bit later in January. As part of the tryout process, athletes are evaluated on skills, teamwork, game play and position flexibility. Players may be asked to play in positions outside their preferred choices. Team rosters for U12, U14 and U16 are typically finalized in late fall. Team rosters for U10 are typically finalized by the end of January.

ARE ATHLETES EXPECTED TO TRAVEL WITH SCOTIA STORM RINGETTE IF THEY MAKE A TEAM?

Athletes selected for our U10, U12 and U14 teams are expected to participate in multiple spring tournaments, which may include travel to either Montreal or Ottawa and/or Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick. In the summer of 2026, our U16 team will be travelling to Finland to compete in the Finland Lions Cup.

CAN MY ATHLETE REGISTER FOR AND PARTICIPATE IN SCOTIA STORM RINGETTE TRAINING IF THEY ARE NOT ON THE TRAVEL TEAM? 

Throughout the year, Scotia Storm Ringette may offer additional ringette training which may include, but is not limited to power skating and dryland training. There may be opportunities for athletes to be named to practice/taxi squads as well.

IS RINGETTE A GIRLS-ONLY SPORT?

No, and Scotia Storm Ringette teams are open to everyone.

IS SCOTIA STORM RINGETTE AFFILIATED WITH ANY RINGETTE ASSOCIATIONS?

Scotia Storm Ringette is not affiliated with any ringette associations.
